Brian Dowd

Brian Dowd has more than 25 years of senior housing and commercial real estate finance and asset management experience.

In 2012, Brian co-founded an investment joint venture and community management platform with institutional equity partners, acquiring distressed or underperforming continuing care retirement communities (“CCRCs”). Brian held CFO, COO, and CEO roles of the joint venture and management platform. The management platform, based in Abilene TX, included up to 25 full-time corporate employees and managed as many as seven CCRCs comprised of over 2,200 units with over 1,300 community associates.

Prior to co-founding the CCRC investment platform, Brian was managing director in DTZ Rockwood’s Financial Services Group, responsible for note and asset sales as well as providing transaction and asset management services to a CCRC private equity fund capitalized with $165 million in equity commitments. At one point this fund had over $500 million in asset value, comprised of operating and development CCRCs with over 3,300 units.

Prior to DTZ Rockwood, Brian was a vice president at Shattuck Hammond Partners, a full-service investment bank serving the healthcare and senior housing industries. While at Parallel Capital, Brian originated, underwrote and closed CMBS loans on multifamily, retail, industrial, senior housing and nursing home loans.

Brian holds an MBA/Finance from NYU Stern School of Business.
