Julieta Avilez
Julieta Avilez leads data and AI at Lloyd Jones, where she works across the firm’s investment and operational teams to build analytics, models, and automation that support better decisions.
She is an applied economist specializing in causal inference, the discipline of separating what actually drives an outcome from what merely moves alongside it. At the World Bank, she has designed and run impact evaluations of large-scale public programs, measuring their effects on firms, labor markets, and local economies.
Earlier in her career, Julieta managed data projects at Amazon and worked in portfolio management and equity research at Santander. Alongside that work, she has spoken on artificial intelligence and economic strategy at forums convened by Mexico’s Senate and Chamber of Deputies, including a panel held with UNESCO on trade and geopolitics, and has discussed urban economics and housing affordability on national television. Julieta holds a Master of Science in Applied Economics and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Mathematics.
