Mark Svenjak brings years of progressive experience in hospitality and real estate development, investment analysis, due diligence, valuation, strategy, and market and financial analysis. As a member of the investment team at Lloyd Jones, Mark and his associates source and analyze hotel acquisitions nationwide. Mark is responsible for advising on the best business strategy for each acquisition opportunity, including potential conversions of select-service hotels into senior housing.
Prior to joining Lloyd Jones, Mark served as senior associate of strategy and transactions in the real estate, hospitality, and tourism sector for Ernst & Young. In this role, he worked with a variety of real estate and hospitality-specific clients, including owners, developers, lenders, pension funds, and Fortune 500 companies across the globe. There, he also advised on mixed-use, hospitality, multifamily, and for-sale residential development projects, and provided financial analyses for various private equity and real estate development clients for planned investments exceeding $550+ million.
Mark earned a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University with a major in hotel administration and a minor in real estate. Mark served as president and director of finance for the Cornell chapter of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) during his undergraduate studies.

As senior vice president of finance at Lloyd Jones, Jan Liu is responsible for the negotiation of all debt and equity for the firm’s acquisitions. Jan has more than a decade of experience in real estate debt and equity, with more than $2 billion in completed investments across the United States and Europe. His experience covers hotels, retail, office, student housing, and joint venture development.
The formative years of Jan’s career were spent in real estate banking at JPMorgan Chase, Fulton Financial, and Wells Fargo. Most recently, Jan worked in a real estate private equity and advisory firm, Exito Partners, where he was responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and advising on distressed real estate assets and portfolios.
Jan holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting, a master’s in real estate investment and finance from the University of Reading Henley Business School, and a Master of Science in Cities from London School of Economics.
